Hola, from Little Rock!

How quickly the days are passing here in Little Rock.  I can't believe that we've been here for 2 1/2 weeks--it has been wonderful!  We have been lucky enough to spend time with family and Hersh has been able to play with his friend Frances (who is just 2 weeks older than him) and her sister and brother, Vivian and Bauer.  I have been able to practice yoga which has been invigorating and Jacob is preparing for his trip to Miami for a conference.

Jacob and I had the opportunity to take a quick trip down to Isla Mujueres which is in the Caribbean Sea, just off of Cancun.  We left Hersh for 3 nights with his Sabba and Savta.   The sunshine was amazing and the water a crystal clear blue.  We missed Hersh very much, but he was in loving hands, and we enjoyed being away.  We snorkeled, read, relaxed in the sun, and even rented a golf cart to drive around the island, which was as fun as it sounds!

Hersh currently has a cold and we are hoping her gets better soon.  This weekend we are planning to drive to Memphis for the day to visit with some of Jacob's childhood friends, whom we just love!

Tonight for dinner we will have vegetarian chili and cornbread.  Hersh hasn't had chili before, but we expect him to like it, as thus far, he hasn't minded a little spice.  Hope that you are currently enjoying some spice in your life!

Hersh is very happy to wake up from nap and visit with Savta:

Everything comes full circle.

Back in the USA and what a busy but wonderful few weeks it has been.  We left Vienna on December 24 and flew into Washington DC.  We were met by Hersh's Aunt Nina and Uncle Lowell, and Aunt Addie and Uncle Craig.  We spent a wonderful weekend together, celebrating Christmas the traditional way--with Chinese food!  We then narrowly avoided a snowstorm and drove to NJ the day after all of the snow fell.

While in NJ we had the chance to visit with so many loved ones.  Jacob and I even had the chance to see Phish at MSG.  Thanks to Addie, Mimi, and Craig for lovingly taking care of the Hershel Bershel Bear so that we could enjoy the shows!

About a week ago we arrived in Little Rock where we will be for the month of January. It has been so nice to be with family here in The Rock.  Hersh is enjoying having so many familiar, loving faces around.  He is "army crawling" all over the place and babbling up a storm.

Yesterday, it happened again-- more snow!  I know it's the winter, but it is truly amazing how the snow has seemed to follow us. This afternoon we plan to take Hersh on his first sled ride!

These past few weeks have been a treat and we are feeling lucky to have a few more ahead of us before we head back to Vienna.  Maybe it'll have warmed up by the time we head back?
