3 is a Magic Number

It's official--our HBB is 3 years old.  We had a fabulous weekend filled with friends, family, fun, yummy food, and a pretty awesome birthday party.  On the 27th, Hersh and I finished making his cake, and Jacob and Hersh decorated the house.  We then set-up the yard and took a ride on Hersh's new scooter from his Sabba and Savta.  Aunt Addie and Uncle Craig joined us on Saturday. Sunday morning lots of our friends descended upon our backyard for the 3rd birthday bash!  The weather was beautiful and all of our planning and hard work payed off.  Everyone had a great time, especially Hersh.  He loved having all of his friends here, and was a perfect host, until the very, very end when his balloons flew away--definitely very sad :(  With the birthday behind us, we will look ahead to what fun awaits as we venture into a year with a 3 year old--we love our little man.

Final week with our 2 year old!

We are officially in the homestretch of Hersh's 2 year old year.  It is truly bittersweet to have him growing, changing, maturing, and blossoming each day.  He both amazes us and frustrates us, keeps us on our toes, and is a constant reminder of how blessed we are to have been given him as our first born.

Tonight we told him that there "is a baby growing in Ima's belly." He seems warm to the idea, telling us that he wants to hold the baby and that we should name it Rashanim.  I tried to explain to him that he will be a big brother, but he didnt seem to connect with the idea.  Fortunately we have until August to prepare him.

This week we will transfer him to his Big Boy Bed and prepare for his 3rd birthday party.  What an amazing boy.

The Big 3-3

Today I am 33 years old.  I dont feel 33, in that I cant believe that I am steadily approaching my mid-30's and am seriously entrenched in adulthood.  Not that these things are bad, in fact, I am incredibly grateful for the life I have and the path I have taken to get here.  It's just sort of shocking to look at myself and my life and realize how grown up I am.  I think for 33 I am doing pretty well.  I am happy, I am stable, I have an amazing husband, son, friends, family, and baby #2 on the way.  My career is well established and I enjoy my work.  Here's to the next year and many more amazing ones to follow!
