The Sederim

There was lots of excitement and anticipation in our house leading up to the Pesach Sederim this year.  Prep began a few weeks ago with food being made and frozen.  Tables and chairs were gathered, and friends and family were invited.  Last Thursday, Sabba and Savta arrived, which was met with much joy and excitement.  Next, the tables were set, the haroset put into little bowls, and the salt water made.  Hersh knew that he was one of the hosts--a very important job.  Both Hersh and AlteLu enjoyed the Seder, as did Jacob and I.  All together there were 28 of us, 15 of whom were aged 6 and under.  This made for a noisy Seder at times, but all of the children sat through the first half of the Seder, which lasted about a half hour.  The Afikomen was hidden and found 6 times (!) in the backyard.
The next day we loaded up the car and drove north to Philly for the second Seder. Anytime we mentioned this to AlteLu, she promptly began a roll call of the family, wanting to ensure that each member of the Lewis Clan would be present.  She was not disappointed, and it was lovely to be all together.
